How to Care for Resin Art: Cleaning, Waterproofing & Stopping Yellowing

2. Wipe with mild soap — dampen the cloth with lukewarm water and a drop of mild liquid soap. Wipe gently in circular motions.
3. Dry immediately — use a clean, dry cloth to remove any moisture.
4. For fingerprints — a slightly damp microfiber cloth usually removes them in one pass.

Never use: alcohol, acetone, nail polish remover, abrasive scrubbers, steel wool, or harsh household cleaners. These can cloud, scratch, or permanently dull the resin surface.

Over time, light scratches or a cloudy film can make resin look less vibrant. Polishing brings back the original glass-like shine.

• Light cloudiness: buff with a soft cloth and a small amount of resin-safe polish or car wax.
• Fine scratches: wet-sand gently with 1000-grit sandpaper, then move to 2000-grit, then polish.
• Deep scratches: may need a thin fresh resin coat — best done by the maker.

Always test any polish on a small, hidden area first. If the piece contains embedded flowers or delicate inclusions, avoid sanding and stick to a gentle cloth polish.
