Resin Art Kit & Materials Buying Guide — India, 2026

Most Amazon and Flipkart "resin art kits" are padded with tiny glitter pots and moulds you'll never use. A genuinely useful starter kit contains only these things:

• UV-resistant epoxy resin — Part A + Part B, 1:1 by volume, 500 g minimum
• Nitrile gloves and an organic-vapour respirator
• Digital scale and graduated mixing cups
• Silicone moulds — coaster, tray, keychain
• Mica powder set (6 shades is plenty)
• Butane torch for bubble removal
• Wooden stir sticks and a level work surface

If it's not on this list, you probably don't need it in month one.

• ArtResin — Canadian brand available through Indian resellers. Excellent clarity, food-safe cured. ₹2,800 per 500 g.
• Craftgully Crystal Resin — accessible Indian option, good for beginners. ₹1,100 per 500 g.

Skip: unbranded "epoxy resin for art" on generic marketplaces without a technical datasheet. It yellows within weeks in Indian sunlight.

You have three good options:

• Online (nationwide): Amazon India, Itsy Bitsy, Craftgully, Hobby Ideas. Best for resin, pigments, and moulds; delivery in 3–5 days.
• Delhi: Nai Sarak (old Delhi) for bulk epoxy, Sadar Bazaar for moulds. Itsy Bitsy has a flagship store in South Delhi.
• Mumbai: Lohar Chawl for hardware-grade resin, Crawford Market for pigments and dried flowers.
• Bangalore: Commercial Street craft stores; Itsy Bitsy has multiple retail outlets.

For safety gear (respirators, nitrile gloves), industrial suppliers like Moglix and IndiaMART give better prices than art stores.

Realistic budgets for a first-time buyer in India:

• "30-piece rainbow glitter set" — most shades will sit unused; buy one gold and one silver mica instead.
• "Fast-cure 30-minute resin" — cures with bubbles and traps heat; use a 24-hour cure for clarity.
• "Pre-mixed coloured resin bottles" — you lose all control over the shade.
• "Includes 40 moulds" — value pack padding; three good silicone moulds beat forty flimsy ones.
• "Non-toxic, no gloves needed" — false. Every epoxy is a skin sensitiser until fully cured.

• Cross-ventilated room, ideally with a fan blowing fumes away.
• Nitrile gloves on, respirator sealed against your face.
• Silicone mat or freezer paper under everything.
• Torch ready, cups measured, timer set.
